# Lag Troubleshooting

## General (Must do items)

* We **STRONGLY RECOMMEND** having a **discrete graphics card** on your PC.

{% hint style="info" %}
For the system requirements, we **STRONGLY RECOMMEND** having a PC that is **BETTER than** the requirement from VTube Studio. \[[Check out the requirement here](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1325860/VTube_Studio/)]
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="danger" %}
If you are **3A** **gaming user (with fancy 3d games)**, we **STRONGLY RECOMMEND** having a **STRONG** graphics card **(at least Nividia RTX 20 series or equivalent**).
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
Most of the time, the performance on VTube Studio will **directly affect Playground**. If your FPS is low on VTube Studio, Playground will have the same issue too.
{% endhint %}

* Make sure you have installed **the latest graphic driver (Intel, AMD, Nivida, etc. )**.
* For Chrome / Edge users, make sure you have turned on "[**Use hardware acceleration when available**](https://playground-docs.gitbook.io/playground/system/supported-browsers-and-platforms#advanced)".
* For any **gaming users**, we strongly recommend opening Playground **inside OBS with "browser source"**, even if you are **NOT** for any streaming / recording purposes.

{% hint style="info" %}
Using Playground in browser will be out of focus when **minimize**, and **choppy (lack of frames) / freeze** will happen for the **energy-saving purpose** (we don't have any solution on that now).
{% endhint %}

You can also check out the following settings too for better performance.

## FPS Settings

1. Click the vertical ellipses in the top right corner and choose **Preference**.
2. Go to **Advanced**.
3. Select the **best FPS** you want and change the **Mask Buffer Resolution** that is suitable to your model.

### OBS

For streamers (OBS / Streamlabs), please remember to turn on "**Use custom frame rate**" and **set the FPS to 60** for the best experience in **Browser Source Settings**.

## Force browser always uses the better graphics card

For Windows users, sometimes your browser would **automatically select Integrated graphics** even if you have a better graphics card for energy-saving purposes.

So make sure you have set your browser using a graphics card.

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Windows 11" %}

1. **Settings** > **System** > **Display** > *(Under Related settings)* **Graphics**
2. Choose your browser / OBS / Streamlabs, and set it to **High performance**.

![](https://3191365076-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FSL2RoZggq07owTVGKh5l%2Fuploads%2Fj7KW2FKpLMiL1qGo9ISv%2FCleanShot%202022-07-22%20at%2003.35.16%402x.png?alt=media\&token=1f85872a-51d2-4dc1-b686-e9ac0756ae22)
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Windows 10" %}

1. **Settings** > **System** > **Display** > *(Under Multiple displays)* **Graphics settings**
2. Choose your browser / OBS / Streamlabs, and set it to **High performance**.

![](https://3191365076-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FSL2RoZggq07owTVGKh5l%2Fuploads%2FsKYqebJmVAXjEHSYJQFY%2FCleanShot%202022-07-22%20at%2003.36.11%402x.png?alt=media\&token=a5bfe47b-c977-4c8e-84f9-f03a25468ec5)
{% endtab %}
{% endtabs %}

## Set process priority and GPU priority for **browser**

You can try to set your browser to the top priority for your PC to run it.

Open the Windows Task Manager,

1. Go to the **Details** tab;
2. Right-click your browser;
3. Select `High` or `Realtime` under the option **Set priority**.

{% hint style="info" %}
If you don't see that tab, you might have to click **More details** at the bottom first.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
Please make sure to **do the same things on VTube Studio** again. \
Most of the time, the performance on VTube Studio will **directly affect Playground**. If your FPS is low on VTube Studio, Playground will have the same issue too.
{% endhint %}

## Please refer to VTube Studio

Again, most of the time, the performance on VTube Studio will **directly affect Playground**. If your FPS is low on VTube Studio, Playground will have the same issue too.

We **STRONGLY RECOMMEND** having a look at VTube Studio documentation first for any lagging issues.

## If it is still not figured out...

1. We are pleased if you join our [discord](http://discord.gg/uTfAaDYQVM) and tell us your problem!
2. Please also **send** us your **PC specification**, as well as **describe how you use Playground (with any application also opened? etc.)**;
3. Have a thought about buying a **NEW**, **STRONGER** computer 😬? (No joking, but it will help a lot)
